The Book Interview Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Cait over at Functionally Fictional. I have no idea who started this tag so please let me know if you know the original source.

Name:
Kristy though I still wish I would have gone by my middle name.

Age:
29! Though I’m turning 30 on the 24th of October!

Favorite Genres:
I love romance, I tend to read a lot of fantasy as well, but romance is my go-to genre. I love getting lost in the relationships & I love getting that happily ever after!

Favorite Male Author(s):
This is a tough one for me because I recently realized that I read more female authors vs. male authors. I would have to say that Sylvain Neuvel & David Wong are high up on my list, but my first male author that I fell in love with is definitely David Levithan. His book, The Realm of Possibility, truly changed my life.

Favorite Female Author(s):
Ummm… This question is impossible to answer, but I will try. I really love Katherine Arden, Samantha Young, Gina L. Maxwell (I only read one book so far but OMG it was AMAZING), Helen Hoang, Kit Rocha, and so many other authors I can’t even think of at the moment.

Forever Favorite(s):

Reviews:

Pan by Gina L. Maxwell
War of Hearts by S. Young
The Nobody People by Bob Proehl
Their Perfect Fit by Hannah Murray
The Harp of Kings by Juliet Marillier

What Was Your First Book of 2019?
My first book was the first book on the Read Me Romance Podcast. Which was Closer by Alexa Riley.  – I’d link to it but… they’ve been kicked off of Amazon.

How did you like it?
Honestly, it was a meh book. I wasn’t thoroughly impressed but I will say that the narrator was really good.

What Was Your Last Book of 2018?
My last book of 2018 was Beyond Shame by Kit Rocha.

How did you like it?
This book is seriously amazing. I love the world that the author duo has created, and I desperately need to read more of their books!

What Do You Look For In A Book/What Makes It Really Stand Out?
Characters, I love character-driven books. I want to see the relationship between all of the characters. I want to see the mess, the love, and the heartbreak.

Do You Collect Any Particular Sets/Editions of Books?
I collect autographed books. FYI, I’m absolutely terrible at book signings because I suck at small talk. I basically just stand there and smile & try not to vomit all my happiness on the author. So, authors if I meet you, I’m secretly fangirling even if I’m looking awkward just standing there.

Do You Prefer Ebooks, Audiobooks, or Physical (Hardback or Paperback?)
It all depends on how much I have to do. I love audiobooks because I can clean, make graphics, and do really anything that has to be done while reading. I also really love eBooks because I can read on my phone or tablet & I have access to my 10,000+ digital library.

Do You Keep Books You Didn’t Like or Get Rid Of Them?
If I love the book, I keep it. If I hated it, I get rid of them. I also do give books away to family & friends when I’m finished. It all just depends on how much I loved the book.

What Literary Character Best Defines You/Do You Best Relate To?
Oh man… this is tough. I honestly don’t know which literary character best defines me. I guess I’ll choose two from the same book. Charlotte & Cara from The Realm of Possibility by David Levithan. There is something raw in each of those characters that speak to me on a profound level.

I tag:
Anyone who wants to join in! Seriously, please join in if you think this looks like fun. I know that sometimes it is scary to do a tag you’re not tagged in so please please please consider this me tagging you. YES, I MEAN YOU!

  1. Happy Birthmonth – don’t limit yourself to just one day, I celebrate Birthmonth with 30 days of feasting and frivolity. 😉

  2. Happy almost birthday! I’ll be 30 in Jan so I’m coming up on it quickly too! And I still really need to read The Bear and the Nightingale!

  3. Oh man this seems like a hard tag because I’m terrible at picking favorites! I have a really hard time giving away books even if I didn’t like them. I’m trying to get better at it.
