TTT | Books I’d Give Different Titles To

It’s Tuesday, and that means it’s Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday used to be hosted over on The Broke and the Bookish but moved over to That Artsy Reader Girl. As described on The Artsy Reader Girl’s blog, “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This description is right up my alley, and I hope you all enjoy this tag as much as I do!

This week’s prompt is “Books I’d Give Different Titles To (and tell us what title you’d pick!),” and I can only think of one book at the moment that I hate, so this Top Ten Tuesday became a Top One Tuesday.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, yep, I said it! The new Hunger Games novel’s title is AWFUL! It’s like they looked at all of the other books that have been published in the past few years and chose the formula of “_____ of _____ and _____.” Seriously, could you get more creative? There are so many books with this formula that other book lovers and I are sick of it. Honestly, I’m not sure what I would title it, but pretty sure “Songbirds and Snakes” would be a better title.

What book titles would you change?

  1. This made me laugh so much because I fully agree. SO excited for a new HG book but what is with that title?! It’s like they spun a random wheel and filled in the blanks like a Mad Lib.

  2. It isn’t a title that flows. The other titles in this series are snappy and memorable.
