TTT | Books The Give Off Autumn Vibes

It’s Tuesday, and that means it’s Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday used to be hosted over on The Broke and the Bookish but moved over to That Artsy Reader Girl. As described on The Artsy Reader Girl’s blog, “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” This description is right up my alley, and I hope you all enjoy this tag as much as I do!

This week’s prompt is books that give off autumn vibes. As you all know by now, autumn is my favorite season, so naturally, this prompt is one of my favorites. FYI there is a bit of overlap with some of my Halloween posts, but I couldn’t leave them off for fear of angering the Great Pumpkin. So, without further ado, here are my answers!

Avarice by A.C. Melody – Whenever I think of autumn, I think of the reds and burnt oranges of the leaves, which always brings the Avarice to mind. This novella is the first in a series that is sure to delight any erotica fan. FYI, it has a cliffhanger ending.

The Dare by Harley LaRoux – This is one book that I desperately wish I would have found the time to read in October. It takes place at a Halloween party, and if that doesn’t scream autumn, I don’t know what will.

Desperate Measures by Katee Robert – You all are probably annoyed by all of the promoting I have done about this book. No, I’m not being paid by Katee, I just love this book so much. This cover is dark, moody, and the orange/brown color is perfect for autumn.

House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski – With autumn comes leaves, so just the name of the book brings autumn to mind. It’s also described as a love story and a horror novel, so it’s perfect for the fall season.

Invisibility by Andrea Cremer & David Levithan – Not only does this book have the orange hue that is perfect for fall, but it also has a crazy unique paranormal story. This book is the perfect book to get your paranormal fix that is perfect for the spooky side of autumn.

Parnassus On Wheels by Christopher Morley – Parnassus On Wheels is one of my favorite books. It’s simple, it’s beautiful, and it describes my perfect life. The vibrant orange of the cover is perfect for autumn. The story is all about starting over and leaving the life you know behind. This makes it an ideal novella for the changing of the seasons.

Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell & Faith Erin Hicks – This cover is the ultimate autumn cover. I finished it on Halloween, and I can confirm that it is cute and the perfect book to read. The graphics are beautiful, and the story was surprisingly touching.  **Pumpkinheads is published by Macmillan on August 27, 2019**

The Realm of Possibility by David Levithan – With the end of summer comes the beginning of the school year. Naturally, I had to choose a book that is all about the lives of high schoolers. The Realm of Possibility is one of those books that is perfect for autumn because if given to the right person, it will show them that they’re not alone in their feelings.

The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa – With the beautiful leaves changing on the cover, this book gives off the perfect vibe for autumn. This book was one of my favorite reads last year. It is ideal for the fall simply because it’s all about the changing of time. FYI, keep tissues handy for this book. If you’re looking for a cathartic cry, this is the book for you.

Weird Things Customers Say in Bookstores by Jen Campbell – Let’s just be honest, autumn is the start of the crazy shopping season, and it’s when most stores start hiring for the holiday season. Every time autumn comes about, you know that Black Friday is just around the corner. If you want to see just a small amount of weird things booksellers have to deal with, pick up this book.

Now that you know my answers, what are your favorite books that give off autumn vibes?

**Due to Macmillan’s stance against libraries, I will point out if a book I have recommended to you is a Macmillan title. Due to the eBook embargo, I will be purchasing books from Macmillan after they have been published for 2 months. Pumpkinhead is a book I purchased before they implemented their embargo on 11/1/2019.
