This week on #FaeFriday, we’re talking about being playfully mischievous! Faeries are mischievous and playful creatures, and with April’s Fools just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to talk about this week’s prompt! **This prompt was helped created by the fantastic @Theartsyreader1 for giving me the keyword “mischievous” Please link to her blog theartsyreader.com.**

What mischievous character has a special place in your heart?

Picture of Calcifer Merlin Lupin Raptor (yes he has lots of middle names) and the book Howl’s Moving Castle

My all-time favorite mischievous character is Calcifer from Howl’s Moving Castle. Calcifer is playful, mischievous, and just a whole hearth full of fun.
There is just something so loveable about the fire demon. I’m not going to go into too many details because it all would be spoilers, but he is the very definition of mischievous.

I actually loved the character so much that I named Cal after him. When I first brought The Mighty Calcifer Merlin Lupin Raptor home, he was wildfire. He ran around, pulling things out from under the bed, nipping ankles, and ruining everything he could. It wasn’t until I finally sat down to build his kennel that Cal calmed down. He snuggled into me, and at that moment, I knew I would be his hearth.

So now that you know my answer, what mischievous character has a special place in your heart?

Last week’s participants!

  1. I still need to read that book/watch the movie! I feel like I’m missing out right now haha

  2. My dog’s name is Spurga (it’s Lithuanian for a type of donut), but I’ve christened her with several bookish and/or nerdy nicknames, including: Luck Dragon, Goblin Child, Clever Girl (she once escaped an only-apparently-locked crate), and Muppet Face.
