#FaeFriday | 7.17.2020

It’s Friday, which means it’s time for another #FaeFriday! This prompt comes from NeriSiren! Check out their awesome blog here! This prompt introduction was perfectly written so here is what NeriSiren posted: The October Daye series has taught me that the original seal faeries — the Roane — were not only shape-shifters but also prophets. They could see and predict the future. In honor of the Roane, I would like to offer the following future prompt for #FaeFriday: What books are you looking forward to reading in the near future? (bonus points if they’re fae-related books and/or books involving prophecies/fortune-telling/crystal balls).

What books are you looking forward to reading in the near future?

As you all know, my year has been full of traumatic events, which means that the books I would generally read and love, have gone to the wayside. I love myself some dark fantasy, so imagine my surprise when I can’t focus on those glorious books I love to get lost in. I figured that since I can’t read the darker stuff, I just thought I would highlight a few that I tried to read during COVID-19 (and the year from hell) and had to put down but still am desperate to pick them up (when I can give them the proper focus). Psst. They all have faeries in them too!

Darling, There are Wolves in the Woods by Lydia Russell

The Hidden King by E.G. Radcliff

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black

So there are the top three books I’m desperate to read. Hopefully, with enough self-care, I’ll be able to pick them up again and enjoy them!

So now that you know my answer, what books are you looking forward to reading in the near future?

  1. Oberon’s shiny crystal balls! Thank you for the shout-out! 😃 I know the feeling of wanting to self-care by reading, but not being able to focus. I hope you find other ways to feel better in the meantime 😘
