WWW Wednesday - Weekly Blog Tag

It’s Wednesday, and that means it is time for WWW Wednesday! WWW Wednesdays is a weekly tag that is currently being hosted by Taking on a World of Words! Wondering how WWW Wednesday works? Just answer the three Ws!

Those three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley, but I’m running behind on ARCs, so I decided to buy the audiobook and help support the author! I actually love it too. Honestly, It’s weird and refreshing to have a main character that is my size. The main character is a size 20, and I love that this book covers fatphobia and how plus-size individuals are treated differently in society. It’s hitting home in some harsh realities that I have faced, which is refreshing. I’m about 38% into the book, and if it stays like this, it’s going to be a 5 caffeinated star read!

What did you recently finish reading?

The last book that I finished was Eat, and Love Yourself by Sweeney Boo & Lilian Klepakowsky. This book was okay, but unfortunately, it just didn’t hit well with me. The illustrations were beautiful, but the story just didn’t jive with me. I liked the idea, but I just wasn’t a fan.

I also finished Deal with the Devil by Kit Rocha and OMG, it was perfect. I loved everything about this book. The dystopian world that Kit Rocha created in the Beyond Series is back & I loved being back in a world that I loved so much. I’m definitely going to need to read all of the beyond series to get through the long wait until the next book comes out.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m not sure. I have quite a lot of books on my TBR, but I’m thinking I’m going to be picking up a Graphic Novel soon. I believe that it’s time for me to read Empowered by Adam Warren. It’s a graphic novel that has been recommended to me by an online friend, and now might be the perfect time to read it through my ComiXology Unlimited subscription.

Now that I have answered the three Ws, it’s your turn! Let me know your answers in the comments!

  1. Aaah! I know I saw an ad or something for Deal With the Devil on instagram and now I can’t find it! The description was really funny…something like, “TFW you’re supposed to capture this girl but then it turns out she and all her friends have superpowers and then you realize you sort of like her…FML.” 🤣

Also, I love that more books are tackling fatphobia now. One of my favorite recent reads is Beneath the Sugar Sky, by Seanan McGuire. One of the protagonists is a plus-sized mermaid who totally shatters the myths about size and health. She’s a star swimmer, is more athletic than all of her thin friends, and her size was a major advantage when she was in the undersea world.

    1. I RT’d that photo on Twitter! It’s seriously hilarious and perfectly describes the book! It’s such a fun read! Honestly, it’s one of my favorites that I have read in the past few years!

Ooo! I will have to take a look at that book! Thanks for putting it on my radar!

  2. I’m happy that you’re enjoying your current read! It sounds really good! I’m sort of currently reading Midnight Sun 😅 I started it last week and I’d like to finish it at some point, but omg, it’s over 600 pages long and I’m not that invested so we’ll see what happens 😬
