WWW Wednesday - Weekly Blog Tag

Wow, it’s been a while since I posted a WWW Wednesday! I’m really excited to finally be feeling back to (my new) normal. I’m getting my blogger motivation back & I am thrilled to say that it is time for WWW Wednesday! WWW Wednesdays is a weekly tag that is currently being hosted by Taking on a World of Words! Wondering how WWW Wednesday works? Just answer the three Ws!

Those three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

Four Hundred Souls - A Community History of African America. 1619 - 2019 Edited by Ibram X. Kendi & Keisha N. Blain

I was extremely fortunate to get Four Hundred Souls by Ibram X. Kendi & Keisha N. Blain through Libro.fm’s influencer program. I just started this book yesterday, and it has been a thoroughly intense read. I am so thankful to the various contributors for putting in the emotional labor to bring us this history. This book is obviously going to be an emotionally taxing book but I think this will be one of the most important reads of 2021.

What did you recently finish reading?

Candy Hearts by Tommy Siegel

I just finished an ARC of Candy Hearts by Tommy Siegel. It was a quick and easy read that showed the inner dialogue we all have in quick little bite size strips. I enjoyed seeing the complexities of life summed up in a satirical way.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

I’m pretty sure that I’m going to be reading my ARC of Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert. As you all know, I am in love with Talia Hibbert’s books. The first two books in The Brown Sister’s series have been two of my favorite romances that I have read. I’ve been waiting for the right moment to read this book and I think this will be the perfect time to pick it up.

Psst. This post contains Amazon Affiliate links.

Now that I have answered the three Ws, it’s your turn! Let me know your answers in the comments!

  1. Currently reading: Blue Shadow Prophecy by Anca Antoci
Recently finished reading: Cheat Sheets for Life by Ayesha Ratnayake
Will read next: COVID-19: Separating Fact From Fiction by Anirban Mahapatra

  2. hi! i enjoyed reading your post.

i’m currently reading: a court of wings and ruin. tbh i’m having a bit of a hard time picking this up bc i read acomaf over a year ago so i don’t remember anything. also i’ve been binge reading short romance novels so to jump to something this long is intimidating lol.

recently read: to sir with love by lauren layne! it was a pleasant read and i enjoyed it.

what i want to read next: i also have the eve brown ARC in my tbr! hopefully i can get to that too one day.

  3. I’ve seen Four Hundred Souls pop up here and there, and Ibram X. Kendi books are always immensely eye-opening. I am incredibly jealous of you getting to read Eve Brown! I’m currently so close to finishing All the Tides of Fate by Adalyn Grace, and then I’ll be starting The Shadow Man by Helen S. Fields.

    1. His books definitely help you open your eyes to the history that America refuses to acknowledge. I kind of wish I had the physical book so I could highlight and take notes.

      1. Both of his other books I’ve read really highlighted the shortcomings in our educational system. They ought to be part of the history curriculum!
