Quick Audiobooks Worth Listening To

It’s the end of the year, and that means many of us are scrambling to reach our reading goals. I know I am. With only 10 days left in the year, I figured it was time to share some of my favorite quick audiobook reads. One of my quick ways to reach my goal is to pick up a short audiobook. So, while I’m finishing up my current reads, I figured I’d share some of my favorites that you can finish in a day. So, here are some audiobooks I enjoyed that are less than 5 hours.

Doctor Who: Dead Air by James Goss (1 Hour, 11 Minutes): Are you a Doctor Who fan? Better yet, are you a fan of the Tenth Doctor? If so, this short 1 hour and 11-minute audiobook is perfect for you! It’s narrated by David Tennant and a fun read! The premise is exciting, and you’ll feel like you’re revisiting old friends.

The Test by Sylvain Neuvel (2 Hours, 12 Minutes): I’m such a fan of Sylvain Neuvel that this book needed to be on this list. The Test is one of those novellas that will stick with you. It’s only 2 hours and 12 minutes long, but it’s packed with so much. I don’t want to give too much away, but this book is perfect for anyone who loves Black Mirror. Seriously, just read it.

True Porn Clerk Stories by Ali Davis (3 Hours, 11 Minutes): Do you want something out of the ordinary that will make you laugh out loud? Look no further than this quick 3 hour and 11-minute long audiobook. This was a hilarious read that definitely should only be read by adults.

How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell (3 Hours, 30 Minutes): Calling all David Tennant fans, this 3 hour and 30-minute long audiobook is perfect for you. David Tennant brings Hiccup to life, and his voice acting is superb. In addition, the series itself is fast-paced and fun for all ages.

The Bear by Andrew Krivak (4 Hours): This 4-hour audiobook was such a pleasant surprise when I picked it up from Libro.fm’s influencer program. It’s a mid-paced audiobook that is so descriptive it feels like you’re right there next to the main character.

Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds & Ibram X Kendi (4 Hours, 11 Minutes): This is by far one of the most powerful books I have read. It’s packed with so much information but put in an easy way to consume. I’ve been a bit too scared to read Ibram X. Kendi’s Stamped from the Beginning due to the length, so this bite-sized 4 hours and 11 minutes audiobook was perfect for helping me learn the history I was never taught in school.

Night by Elie Wiesel (4 Hours, 17 Minutes): This is one of the most haunting books I have ever read. This 4 hours and 17 minutes long book is a masterpiece. Elie Wiesel’s story is incredibly emotional and shows the true horrors of the Holocaust.

Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs? By Caitlin Doughty (4 Hours, 29 Minutes): Are you looking for a nonfiction book that will answer questions that you never could ask? Then, this is the book for you. This book had some hilarious questions (and answers) but was surprisingly insightful.

  1. Holy Celebrity Cameos, Batman! Two David Tennants and a Gilmore Girl autobiography! (I dare you not to sing that to the tune of 12 Days of Christmas 🙃)
