Friday Favorites – Childhood Books

I’ve wanted to be more active on my blog, so I decided to participate in more weekly tags! Friday Favorites is hosted by the wonderful blog Something of the Book. Basically, a prompt is given, and you get to gush about your favorites.

This week’s prompt is Favorite Books from Childhood. As a child, I really didn’t read many books I would consider my favorite. I read because it was a way to escape, but I was a stupid child and read books that my friends were reading and not the books that interested me. Luckily, while reading popular books, I happened upon some fantastic books that ended up defining me.

Crosspatch by Helen & Alf Evers – This is a weird one, but it was one of my all-time favorite books when I was a kid. Now that I look back at it, it has a bit of a troubling message, but I still have that nostalgic love for it. FYI the link it to the Amazon page but I was able to secure a copy for A LOT cheaper elsewhere.

Animorphs by K. A. Applegate – OMG, I was obsessed with this series when I was in grade school. It is also the reason I’m slightly scared of fish.

Beautiful Oops by Barney Saltzberg – Now, this isn’t one that I read in my childhood but it is one that I wish I had access to as a kid. This is also my go-to book recommendation for any parent. It’s basically a book that helps teach kids that imperfections and mistakes are normal and that it is okay to mess up.
