It's April, and that means it's time to update you all on my Clearing The Hoard - Bookwyrm Challenge! I ended up reading The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg, and I have to admit that I wasn't a fan. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't as amazing as everyone has made it out to be. Maybe it's because I'm 30 or that I'm not a massive fan of the Christmas season, but this one was a dud to me. In the end, I gave it three caffeinated stars. It was just a meh to me. I decided that I was going to give away my copy, and my sister claimed my autographed copy! She will be the proud owner of The Polar Express, and I'll have a bit of free space to add another autographed book! Here are the books I've given away in March*:
It's March, and that means it's time to update you all on my Clearing The Hoard - Bookwyrm Challenge! I ended up reading Royal Elves by Misty D. Billman. I ran out of time, and I knew that there was no way I would be able to finish Persepolis while babysitting, so during nap time, I read Royal Elves. Unfortunately, I wasn't that impressed. I didn't feel connected to the characters, found some spelling errors, and almost DNF'd it in the first 20 pages. I ended up giving it two caffeinated stars because I enjoyed the plot.
Well, month one of Clearing The Hoard Bookwyrm Challenge was a success! Out of the three books I pulled from my TBR jar, I decided to read Into The Woods. I enjoyed the book, but I decided that it's time for this book to find a new owner. I enjoyed the script, but I know that I'm never going to reread the script. My first post with all of my data was posted on December 5th. I figured I would update everyone on what has been added and removed from my shelves since then.
I've had this book borrowed from Kindle Unlimited for a few months, but I never found the time to read it. As you all by now should know, I love Faeries. I've fallen in love with many mythical creatures, but faeries have always had a special place in my heart. Since I started #FaeFriday, I figured it was time to brush up on my faery facts, which is surprisingly nonexistent.
Everything pointed to this being the perfect book for me, but unfortunately, this was just not that good.
Lucian Read is a brilliant photographer that genuinely knows how to capture a moment and leave it branded in your mind. The photos in this book are horrifying, enlightening, and real.
