The Happy Ever After Playlist is the first Abby Jimenez book that I have read. It can be read as a standalone, which made me happy seeing as Libro.fm gave me this one as part of their influencer program. Luckily for me, I didn’t look at the narrators. Look, so many people LOVE Erin Mallon, but I don’t. Her narrations of female characters tend to grate on my nerves. I tend to avoid any of the books she narrates, which makes me sad because she narrates some fantastic books. With all that said, I found that if I speed up her narrations, she isn’t terrible. Zachary Weber, as always, was fantastic.

It is finally May, and that means it’s time to update you all. April was one of the hardest months for me, personally. As many of you know, we had a few health scares with my aunts, and Calcifer needed emergency surgery for a blockage. Everyone seems to be doing well, and Cal is currently lying on a mat next to me as I type this. He is still in the critical ten days post-surgery, but with luck, hope, and good vibes, he should make a full recovery.
With COVID-19 happening around the world, my anxiety has been pretty high. Usually, when my anxiety is through the rough, I rely on reading to get me through and escape for a bit. Unfortunately, my stress has been way too high, and I failed to focus on anything, let alone focus my attention on a book. I didn’t get much reading or blogging done in April, but I’m hoping with the start of May, I’ll be able to start reading again.
