The TBR Book Tag

Danni tagged me over on _ForBooksSake in The TBR Book Tag, and I am honestly a little scared to answer these questions because it will force me to look into the void that I call my TBR. 2020 is all about doing things that scare me, so join me as I stare into the void and try not to drown in the infinite piles of books that stare back. Psst. Give her blog a follow. She’s AWESOME!

1 – How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

Well, I have a spreadsheet for all of my physical books. I am also in the process of creating a spreadsheet for my Audiobooks. My ebooks are in the 15,000 books range, so I just ignore those. Psst. That wasn’t an exaggeration.

2 – Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?

… so my print TBR is made up of 509 book. My kindle library is made up of 9132 unread books. My nook has about 7000 nook books. I’m going to say that eBooks win on this round.

3 – How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

This year I’m focusing a lot on my print books with my Bookwyrm Challenge, so I’m picking books out of my TBR jar! It’s really helpful so far, and I’ve already read one book for my #ClearingTheHoard Bookwyrm Challenge!

4 – A book that’s been on your TBR the longest

I honestly don’t think I have an answer to this. My TBR has been growing since I was born, so it is tough to figure out which one has been ignored longest. If I have to answer, I’ll say House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. I’ve owned it for YEARS, and I have yet to read it.

5 – A book that you recently added to your TBR

Devolution: A Firsthand Account of the Rainier Sasquatch Massacre by Max Brooks. I absolutely LOVED World War Z so I can’t wait to read this book!

6 – A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover

The Crime of Sylvestre Bonnard by Anatole France, I bought the book at a library sale because the cover was just beautiful. If I’m honest, I probably will never read it, but it sure is gorgeous.

7 – A book on your TBR that you NEVER plan on actually reading

See question 6. LOL

8 – An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for

Kit Rocha’s newest book Deal with the Devil releases in May, and I cannot wait for it to be August because that is when I’ll be able to read it. Unfortunately, this book is published by Tor, which means I’m boycotting the book until two months after publication. I am so incredibly sad because I’m incredibly desperate to read this book!

9 – A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read except you

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, I swear everyone and their mother has read this book, and I have yet to pick it up.

10 – A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you

Definitely The Cruel Prince by Holly Black!

11 – A book on your TBR that you’re just dying to read

Definitely Honey and the Hitman by Hannah Murray. This is one of the reasons I haven’t canceled my Kindle Unlimited plan yet because it’s already there staring at me.

12 – The number of books on your Goodreads TBR shelf

1053 Hey! At least it’s smaller than the amount of ebooks I own.

I Nominate:

Anyone who wants to participate! Seriously, you know you want to!

  1. You seriously just need to read both The Cruel Prince and Honey and the Hitman. Once you’ve read them, you’ll wonder why you waited so long!
