It is finally May, and that means it’s time to update you all. April was one of the hardest months for me, personally. As many of you know, we had a few health scares with my aunts, and Calcifer needed emergency surgery for a blockage. Everyone seems to be doing well, and Cal is currently lying on a mat next to me as I type this. He is still in the critical ten days post-surgery, but with luck, hope, and good vibes, he should make a full recovery.
With COVID-19 happening around the world, my anxiety has been pretty high. Usually, when my anxiety is through the roof, I rely on reading to get me through and escape for a bit. Unfortunately, my stress has been way too high, and I failed to focus on anything, let alone focus my attention on a book. I didn’t get much reading or blogging done in April, but I’m hoping with the start of May, I’ll be able to start reading again.
Even though I didn’t read as much as I usually do, I did force myself to read a few books. Now, I know that some of you may judge me for counting these books on my reading challenge, but here’s the thing, reading is reading. My challenge doesn’t invalidate your challenge. If you only want to count books that are 120 pages or more than great! I’m proud of you. If you only want to count books that are picture books, that is great! I’m proud of you too. Reading is so subjective, and I’m a firm believer in reading and counting anything and everything you want to. We are readers because we read.
With all that said, I appreciate you all. Thank you for sticking with me through the ups and downs.

Favorite book this month was Rascal by Jean-Luc Deglin
This book was super adorable, and I loved how it showed the good and bad parts of owning a cat. It was a great read that most cat lovers will enjoy.
