When I saw this book on NetGalley, I knew I needed to read it. Unfortunately, life got in the way, which means I ended up buying the audiobook instead. I tend to buy the audiobook anytime I’m late in the review game. I’m delighted that I bought the audiobook because the narrators were great! Brittany Pressley & Teddy Hamilton brought the book to life. At times, I did wish that the female voices were just a bit different, but other than that, they did a fantastic job.
With COVID-19 and a lot of personal issues, I’ve been filling my life with romance, and this book was exactly what I needed. The Roommate is one of those books that will make you smile. It was well written, humorous, and incredibly spicy. Don’t let the cutesy cover fool you. This book packs a lot of steam, and I was here for it.
I have to admit that it took me quite some time to formulate my thoughts on this book. When I was in High School, Christopher Paolini’s Eragon was taking over. Christopher Paolini was a household name, and I enjoyed the first of the Inheritance Cycle series. So, when I saw this book was offered up on NetGalley as an Audiobook, I knew it was for me. I requested right away and slightly regretted it when I saw how long this audiobook was. I tend to have a maximum of 15 hours when it comes to length, and at 32 hours & 30 minutes, this book was very obviously over that 15-hour max.
I haven’t read a book by Farrah Rochon, so when I saw The Boyfriend Project offered up on NetGalley, I had to jump at the opportunity. Luckily for me, I also received the audiobook from Libro.fm through their influencers program. I’ve been struggling with reading books so listening to the audiobook was a glorious thing. Je Nie Fleming did a fantastic job narrating this book. I’m so impressed with her narrations that I added her to my favorite narrator’s list.
Samantha Young has been a staple author for me. I’ve been reading her books since 2012 when I found her book, On Dublin Street. I’ve been an avid reader since. The Truest Thing is the 4th book in her Hart’s Boardwalk series and features a character that I just couldn’t like.
This book was everything I wanted and more. I’ve loved Kit Rocha since I found their Beyond series, so when I saw Tor picked up this book, I was so excited. I couldn’t wait to read this book. It’s honestly everything that I would have wanted. I’m delighted that MacMillian removed the ebook embargo so that I didn’t have to wait three months to read it. But trust me, this book would have been worth the wait.
As many of you know, Talia Hibbert quickly became one of my favorite romance authors last year. So, I was extremely excited to get the ARC of Take a Hint, Dani Brown. Unfortunately, due to a death in the family, this book went to the back burner. I finally found the energy to read, but my focus was all over the place. Instead of reading the ARC, I bought the audiobook from Libro.fm and dived in.
When Rachel approached me to read this advanced reader copy, I jumped at the chance! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I love paranormal books. I was extremely excited to jump in and see where this book took me. The one thing that I loved the most about this book was the world. Rachel knows how to make a mysterious world where faeries and supernatural beings exist. I also loved that she played with the various types of fae and didn’t go the Tinkerbell route. I found myself enthralled by the world and the different creatures.
