Goodreads Summary:

At thirty-three-years old Evangeline Starling’s life in Chicago is missing that special something. And when she’s passed over for promotion at work, Evie realizes she needs to make a change. Some time away to regain perspective might be just the thing. In a burst of impulsivity, she plans a holiday in a quaint English village. The holiday package comes with a temporary position at Much Ado About Books, the bookstore located beneath her rental apartment. There’s no better dream vacation for the bookish Evie, a life-long Shakespeare lover.

Not only is Evie swept up in running the delightful store as soon as she arrives, she’s drawn into the lives, loves and drama of the friendly villagers. Including Roane Robson, the charismatic and sexy farmer who tempts Evie every day with his friendly flirtations. Evie is determined to keep him at bay because a holiday romance can only end in heartbreak, right? But Evie can’t deny their connection and longs to trust in her handsome farmer that their whirlwind romance could turn in to the forever kind of love.

My Thoughts:

As many of you know by now, I’ve been struggling with finding the right books to keep my attention. After my grandpa & aunt passed away last year, I’ve been just drifting along and having to be extremely selective with my current reads. Luckily, I’m starting to feel more myself, and when the ARC to Much Ado About You by Samantha Young hit my kindle, I couldn’t contain my excitement.

Am I so spoiled by my upbringing I’m conditioned to continually want more than what I have?” - Much Ado About You by Samantha Young

Have you ever wanted to escape your life and run a bookstore for a month? I have! This book was such a fun read. I loved the characters that Samantha Young created. They’re fun. They’re lovable. They’re everything I needed at the moment. This book felt like an entertaining new adventure, and I couldn’t wait to read another chapter.

“How can you not be a fan of Shakespeare when his characters say epic shit like that?” - Much Ado About You by Samantha Young

The book itself was a lot of fun, yet at times it was a little too reminiscent of Samantha’s first book in the Hart’s Boardway series. This could be because it’s a big city girl falling in love with a quaint town. Even though it felt a little Hallmarky at times, I enjoyed the book. The chemistry between Evie and Roane was excellent & I couldn’t help but root for them.

The best word to describe how I felt with the hangover from hell was “fragile.” Like I might break apart at any second.

All in all, this big city goes to a quaint town story was good. I enjoyed all of the characters, and this could be a strong start to a series.

    1. Thanks! I’m so happy to be back! I missed writing all of the reviews!

It definitely was a cute light romance, it had a bit of angst in it but for the most part, was a lighthearted read!
