Friday Favorites | Character Team-ups!

It’s Friday, and that means it is time for Friday Favorites! Friday Favorites is hosted by the wonderful blog Something of the Book. Basically, a prompt is given, and you get to gush about your favorites.

This week’s prompt is favorite character team-ups! I wasn’t quite sure what to put until I started to really think about what I love in a book. I love banter, I love chemistry, and I love everything to do with sarcasm and mushy characters. So naturally, I’m choosing a team-up of a sarcastic character and a cinnamon roll character.

Seriously, this is my favorite team-up! A book with a grumpy/sarcastic character teamed up with a sunshine/cinnamon roll character is my catnip. There is just something beautiful about the give and take of this team-up. I love that the grump starts to see the bright rays of sunshine a bit more. I also love the inevitable moment where the grump has to pick up the sunshine character and be optimistic. It’s just such a fun dynamic to watch. There is usually a bit of banter, some quick-witted responses, and all of the usual things that make me happy. I think that is one of the reasons I am LOVING Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. This book is just perfect so far! You have the grumpy/sarcastic Chloe and the incredibly bright ray of sunshine Red.

Honorable mention goes to Enemies having to team up. I just love seeing the give and take in this. It’s fascinating to read, and I love the problem solving they have to do in regards to each other and to the situation.

So what are your favorite team-ups?

  1. Ahh that is a great team up! To be honest, if anyone wanted to know my favourite team ups, all they would have to do is read The Expanse novels. The characters are all so vastly different, but they all work so well together. More characters get added as the books go on but they all just fit. The characters are the main reason why I love these novels with all my nerdy heart.
