February is Black History Month in the United States, which is why this week’s prompt is:
What are some of your favorite books written by Black authors?
I’m pretty sure all of you knew this series was going to be on this list. The Brown Sisters series by Talia Hibbert is hands down one of my all-time favorite series. Talia Hibbert has a way with words and can create in-depth characters that make me swoon. All three of the books have been some of my favorite romances that I have read. I recommend them to everyone.
The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochon had such a fun concept, and I loved watching the chemistry between the main characters. My favorite part of this book was the relationship between the three women!
The A.I. Who Loved Me by Alyssa Cole – I read this book last year, and I still have a hard time putting my thoughts into words. This book was weird and unique. I loved Alyssa Cole’s writing style, and the characters were interesting.
The Sacrifice of Darkness by Roxane Gay, Tracy Lynne Oliver, Rebecca Kirby, James Fenner was an interesting read. I enjoyed the world that was created, and the artwork was beautifully done.
The Deep by Rivers Solomon was such a powerful book. I honestly didn’t know what to do with myself afterward. I loved the lyrical writing. Rivers Solomon knew how to invoke emotions. I’m honestly still haunted by this book. It’s one that will stick with me forever.
Song of Blood & Stone by L. Penelope was a fantastic fantasy that kept me thoroughly entertained. Though the book was a bit predictable at times, I loved seeing the chemistry between the characters & the world was fascinating!
Psst. I left off the history books that I would put on this list so that next week’s #FaeFriday won’t repeat this week!
So now that you know my answer, what are some of your favorite books written by Black authors??
